This weeks Oporto Youth Leagues ‘Match of the Week’ sees us shine a light on the Under 14D’s competition as 2nd placed Ourimbah host 4th placed Kincumber at Ourimbah Oval.
Before we look ahead to this weekend, lets check in on how last weekends match played out!
Last weekend’s Oporto Youth Leagues ‘Match of the Week’ was held at Wadalba Sports Complex as first placed Kanwal faced fourth placed Umina. After going down to Kanwal earlier in the year, Umina were looking to win to keep in touch with the Bulls at the top of the table. The Eagles were to emerge victorious from Wadalba Sports Complex in an upset result, winning 2-1 to move a step closer to the top of the table!
Second placed Ourimbah United face fourth placed Kincumber for the second time this season, beating them 1-0 in the opening week of the season. The side have lost just one of their 9 games this year, drawing another to sit second with 24 points, just one short of first placed Avoca. They have been involved in many close competitive games so far this season including last weeks 3-2 win over Wyoming, and a 4-3 win over Gosford City 2 a few weeks ago. Hopefully tomorrows match will be no different!
After losing the first two matches of the season, Kincumber have only lost one match since, and they come into this match in good form after defeating Doyalson 10-0 last weekend. Sitting in fourth, they are currently eight points behind their opponents, and just five behind third place. A 1-0 loss in the opening week against Ourimbah indicates that these two sides are fairly well matched, and should produce a fun competitive match on Saturday morning!
