2026 Premier Competitions Update
Central Coast Football (CCF) confirms that Woongarrah FC will not participate in the 2026 Men’s Premier League (MPL) or Women’s Division 1 (WDIV1) competitions.
The club has advised CCF it is unable to field premier teams for the 2026 season.
This outcome is regrettable, but it is not unexpected when sustainable club practices are not maintained. CCF’s responsibility is to protect the integrity of Premier competitions and the clubs and participants who meet their commitments.
Replacement club confirmed
CCF confirms that Gosford City FC will replace Woongarrah FC in the 2026 Scribal Men’s Premier League competition.
After finishing runners-up in the 2025 Playoff Series and reaching the Grand Final in 2024, Gosford City has demonstrated consistent on-field performance and organisational readiness. The Dragons are well placed to step into Premier League football in 2026.
CCF thanks Gosford City FC for its commitment and ongoing support of football on the Central Coast.
Ongoing support of Premier Competitions
Woongarrah FC will be required to engage with CCF on a structured review of club sustainability and an agreed re-entry pathway should the club seek to return to Premier competitions in a future season via Division 1.
CCF remains committed to Premier competitions that are stable, credible, and reflective of the standards expected at the top tier on the Central Coast.
Accordingly, CCF will undertake a review with our participating clubs of the Premier competition model, including:
-
- Annual entry criteria and ongoing compliance requirements
- Junior pathways
- Level and structure of ongoing funding and support attached to Premier competitions
- Integrity and competition-stability measures to reduce repeat withdrawals
