In a break from tradition, Central Coast Football chose to shine a light on an often-overlooked aspect of the beautiful game at their annual Chairman’s Award Dinner, held with the support of Wyong Leagues Group. This year the esteemed Chairman’s Award was presented to the Referees Branch and dedicated to the 239 individuals who have consistently upheld the spirit and integrity of football on the Central Coast.

Every weekend, our referee’s step onto the pitch, ensuring that the game is played fairly and that the rules are adhered to. They make split-second decisions, often under immense pressure, with the knowledge that each call can greatly impact the outcome of a game.

Throughout the 2023 season, this group displayed unmatched dedication, resilience, and professionalism. Their unwavering commitment to the game lead to the highest referee coverage in CCF history, and several matchdays with 100% coverage.

“It’s a testament to the hard work, training, and dedication that our referees put in week in and week out,” said Alex Burgin, CCF CEO, who praised the award. “Referees are a crucial part of our footballing community, and it’s time we recognized their contributions.”

CCF’s top performing Players & Coaches were also recognized for their outstanding performances over the season. Among the top honorees were:
