This weekend will see Austin Butler Memorial Oval turn PINK to raise money for Breast Cancer research.
2021 saw over 3000 people die of Breast Cancer in Australia! Breast Cancer affects not only Women. Last year saw 36 Males losing their life to Breast Cancer.
Woy Woy Football Club, like every club under the Central Coast Football umbrella, has been affected by some form of cancer related death. Last season the committee of Woy Woy Football Club decided to reinstate what was originally a day held in the pre season to raise money for the Cancer Council. The Butler Family trophy was awarded to the winner of a fixture between Woy Woy Football Club’s Mens First Grade and a Butler Family Select Team. This Sunday will see The Butler Family Trophy once again awarded to the Winner of the Men’s and Women’s First Grade Fixtures.
Last season saw Woy Woy Football Club hold its first annual Pink Day which was very successful in raising $3800. The weekend once again will see our Competition Teams wearing pink socks, our amazing canteen selling pink themed items and a stall fully dedicated to all things pink. All proceeds raised this weekend will go to the Breast Cancer Network Australia.
This season sees 22 games at Austin Butler Oval with the weekend culminating with a huge Sunday seeing our Women’s Premier League Squad taking on Terrigal and our Men’s Division One Squad taking on East Gosford for The Butler Family Trophy.
Please come down to Austin Butler Memorial Oval this weekend to support an extremely important cause and let’s all give Cancer the boot!
