Females participating in playing football is one of our biggest growth areas, not only on the Central Coast but nationwide. Unfortunately, we do not see the same participation rates when it comes to female’s refereeing.
In 2022, only 5% of our referees were females compared to females making up 25% of our 14,000+ registered players last season.
Here at Central Coast Football, we want to encourage and pave the way for the next generation of female referees. for the 2023 Season, all returning and new female referees will receive free registration. For those females who need to take our level 4 ‘entry level’ referee course, despite the course itself already being free, CCF is also waiving the cost for their referee shirts, shorts, polo shirt, and track pants.
With the FIFA Women’s World Cup being hosted in Australia this year, 2023 marks a fantastic year for females all over the country to be motivated by our confident and inspiring Matildas. CCF wants to see as many women involved in football as possible, whether you register as a player, coach, manager, volunteer or referee.
