2021 Season Abandoned

Firstly, Central Coast Football (CCF) hope that you are all keeping safe and healthy throughout this lockdown that continues to challenge us all.

CCF previously advised that if we couldn’t restart by the weekend of 11/12 September the Season would be abandoned.  Now that the NSW Government has extended the lockdown, we will not be able to restart on or before September 11/12.  Therefore, CCF has had to make the difficult decision to abandon the 2021 Season.

As a result, the CCF Board, has made the following decisions: –

2021 Leagues

No Champions or premiers’ titles, trophies or medals will be awarded for the 2021 Season.

Promotion and Relegation (BPL and MDIV1)

As a result of the current lockdown period, only the first 9 of the 18 scheduled regular season matches were able to be played in these leagues. Clearly, the season has not been completed and as such, the integrity associated with the principles of promotion/relegation have been severely compromised.  Therefore, no promotion or relegation will occur.

Credits/Refunds of 2021 Fees

CCF has previously announced that there will be credits/refunds should less than 14 games be scheduled throughout the 2021 season.  This season Saturday Leagues (Mixed Juniors, Over35’s/O45’s) played 11 scheduled fixtures and Sunday Leagues (BPL, WPL, MDIV, MAA, WAA and Junior Girls) played 9 scheduled fixtures.

Therefore, for any player who’s registered team normally plays on a Saturday they will receive a Credit/Refund equal to 3/14’s of the fee they paid.  For any player who’s registered team normally plays on a Sunday they will receive a Credit/Refund equal to 5/14’s of the fee they paid.

The credit will be applied towards the 2022 season registration or if a player chooses not to play football in 2022, they will be able to apply for a refund after registrations close in 2022.

The timing of the credits/refunds allows CCF to obtain credits/refunds from our Insurance Company (Player Insurance), Central Coast Council (ground hire), Football NSW (Capitation fees) and contributions from CCF Clubs.

Conclusion

CCF would like to take this opportunity to thank our clubs and volunteers who were working so hard to ensure Football got played in 2021.

While the 2021 Season has come to an unfortunate end hopefully we see you all back playing Football in 2022.

Please stay safe and healthy.
