Umina United FC v Gosford city FC

The 2020 Unity Bank Women’s League Grand Final between Umina United FC and Gosford City FC will conclude the end of the year as the two teams will face 10:00 am on Saturday the 7th of November at Central Coast Stadium. Umina enters the game coming off a win over their opposition Gosford who they beat 2-1 in the Major Semi-Final to progress to the Grand Final. Umina finished the year in 2nd place behind Gosford during the regular season, with their only 2 losses off the year coming from the Gosford side. Their opponents, League Champions Gosford secured their Grand Final spot after coming from behind to beat Kanwal 3-1 in the Preliminary Final. That was their first win in 2 games after opening the year with 13 straight wins before losing to Kanwal on the final day of the year to ruin their unbeaten season. Gosford will be heading into this weekend looking to win their 3rd straight Grand Final after previous wins in 2019 & 2018. Umina Coach Steve Donaldson is thrilled for the matchup as he knows what to expect from a very dangerous Gosford side, “I’m not just excited for it being a Grand Final, I’m excited as a football fan and the football played by both teams is very attractive and exciting for the neutral fan”. “Gosford are a well-drilled and quality team, a testament to Pete Edwards coaching ability” mentioned Steve as he compared the two sides highly together, “We both thrive to play good football”. No matter what the final scoreline says on the day, Steve stated “I could not be prouder of girls and the way they have conducted themselves this year”. Gosford Coach Pete Edwards is extremely happy with his bunch of girls this season and what they have been able to accomplish together, “We’ve been playing some great football all year, even in recent games when we have lost we have walked off the field believing we played the better football”. Like his opposition coach, Pete knows this weekend will be no easy task, “I’m expecting Umina to be tough. They play fast counter-attacking style with deadly speed in their attacking play” Pete vocalized. Pete also gave his credits to the Umina coach “Steve has been fantastic all year and his team deserves to be in the Final at the stadium”. It is sure to be a very great game of football when the two best sides of 2020 meet on Saturday at Central Coast Stadium.
